Newcastle United faced off against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light earlier today as they hoped to secure a good result on the road in the Premier League. The Magpies made a solid start to the game and managed to get to the half-time break with a goalless scoreline.

Nick Woltemade scored an unfortunate own goal in the 46th minute. Eddie Howe’s men failed to come up with a response and crashed to a tough 1-0 defeat in the Tyne-Wear derby.
