After much deliberation, Celtic has officially parted ways with Wilfried Nancy. The Hoops fanbase has slowly but surely ran out of patience with the head coach, who was only appointed last month.
The decision to send Wilfried Nancy packing came shortly after Celtic embarrassingly lost the Glasgow Derby. Being second in the Scottish Premiership is one thing, but losing to their most bitter rivals was the straw that broke the camel's back.
Celtic has sacked Wilfried Nancy - Updates & fan reaction

Thanks for joining, enjoy your week!
That concludes our live blog. Much like Wilfried Nancy's tenure at Parkhead, we are packing up.
Look, the future is uncertain at Celtic. However, fans can at least be more optimistic than they were under Wilfried Nancy.
Ultimately, the right decision was made. There is no bad blood between Celtic fans and Wilfried Nancy. He was simply the wrong manager at the wrong time, through absolutely no fault of his own.
Let's look ahead to a new week, a new year, and (hopefully) better results at Parkhead.
Over and out 🍀

The bigger picture might please Celtic fans (if it actually happens)
Celtic sacking Wilfried Nancy could go one of two ways, and that's not rocket science to suggest. That said, no matter if Celtic declines or accelerates in the second portion of the season, sacking Wilfried Nancy was the right decision.
Heck, one Celtic fan even said "Will happily, gladly, delightedly accept 4th this season if it means we have a proper restructuring of the club to become a much more modern outfit that can compete in Europe and continue dominating Scotland."

Celtic fans are all thinking the same thing after Wilfried Nancy is sacked
Wilfried Nancy being shown the exit door was the right decision, but it's not going to change Celtic.
While the same can be said for a lot of different clubs, real change will only occur when those who can impact change are changed.
One Celtic fan recently said "I do have sympathy for him because he inherited a rotten squad and he’s a symptom of the problem we have at the club. People above his pay grade should also be leaving"

Celtic got a quiet win that fans may have missed
There's no hiding from the fact that Celtic is in dire straits right now, and they need a fresh approach from a manager who understands the club.
That said, they also need a new direction even higher than the head coach. Thankfully for Celtic fans, Paul Tisdale has also left his position as Head of Football Operations at the same time as Nancy.
Some fans might oppose the Nancy decision, but you'd be hard pressed to find one that would want Tisdale to stay.

Rod Stewart just said what every Celtic fan is thinking
Rod Stewart is not shy to show his support Celtic. Naturally, then, fans were waiting to see what he had to say on the whole situation.
Rod Stewart posted a celebratory video, waving his hands in the air and signing 'he's gone.'
Unsurprisingly, he campaigned for Martin O'Neill to be given the Celtic job until the end of the season.

Wilfried Nancy is a great coach... But not for a team that wishes to dominate
Look, Wilfried Nancy does play some nice football. However, nice football means nothing when the results are overwhelmingly not-nice.
Celtic must look at a proven winner, not an experimental tactician, as they seek their replacement.

Julián Araujo was thought to be Wilfried Nancy's answer
Wilfried Nancy might have been better, if the system was set up for him. It's completely tangible that we are clutching at straws to help his case, but even then, it's unknown how he would fare with Celtic's new signings.
A new wing-back in Julián Araujo wouldn't have hurt, though...

Wilfried Nancy wasn't entirely to blame (but he was the easiest)
Perhaps one day we'll look back at Wilfried Nancy as being hard-done-by, but that's a thought for a rainy day (not a snowy one!)
The fact of the matter is that Celtic is in a dire position. When a club like Celtic is underperforming, coaches walk a thinner tightrope than other clubs in Scotland.

Martin O'Neill outlasted Wilfried Nancy... As interim coach
Martin O'Neill successfully returned to Celtic to help out as an interim head coach. He was already a Parkhead legend, but he cemented that status by steering Celtic back in the right direction.
Ironically, Martin O'Neill's interim tenure was longer than Wilfried Nancy's 'permanent' tenure... 😬

Wilfried Nancy joined an esteemed pile right at the very bottom
Despite being given next to no time in Scottish football, some fans are starting to think that Wilfried Nancy is one of the worst managers to ever coach in Scotland.

The Glasgow Derby didn't help Wilfried Nancy's case at all
Just days after activity in the transfer window suggested the Parkhead board trusted Nancy, the fanbase has been left not knowing what to believe. Was it the plan all along? Did Celtic plan to keep Nancy in the job if the Glasgow Derby went differently? These are all questions which will unravel themselves in due course.

Celtic has officially parted ways with Wilfried Nancy
Well, well, well. It's already an eventful Monday, Celtic fans.
The inevitable has happened. After fans were calling for it to happen for weeks, Celtic finally decided to part ways with Wilfried Nancy. The former Columbus Crew coach was only in charge for eight games, but it went from bad to worse for the Hoops.
